TWOTHIRDS's Sustainability Rating:

Good

TWOTHIRDS uses a majority of lower emissions materials in its garments and has goals to further improve its materials mix. It publicly reports on its emissions impact, has emissions reduction targets, and finances vetted climate projects to offset its company emissions.

TWOTHIRDS does not offer takeback or repair programs to help keep garments out of landfills, though it does make use of deadstock material in its designs.

  • Raw Materials

TWOTHIRDS reports that 90.7% of its garments are made with lower emissions materials, including recycled cotton, deadstock fabric, organic cotton, linen, tencel lyocell, and others. It uses very small amounts of high emissions materials like virgin wool and elastane. It's working to use fewer fabric blends to improve recyclability of its products, and it has reported on progress towards this goal within the last year. It offers Limited Edition Collections made of deadstock material from their own and other brands' production processes.

  • Energy Use & Production

TWOTHIRDS uses 100% renewable energy in its offices, but it doesn't specify the source. It sources and manufactures its materials globally, which is standard practice in the fashion industry, but it's working to reduce the span of its operations by localizing suppliers to Europe and localizing an office near its largest manufacturing facility to cut down on business travel.

  • Packaging & Distribution

TWOTHIRDS reports using 100% plastic-free packaging, including cardboard and paper bags.

  • Repair & Care

TWOTHIRDS doesn't offer repair services or a warranty, but it gives highly detailed and environmentally conscious care instructions for its garments to extend lifespan.

  • Take Back Programs

Commons couldn't find information on any take back programs.

  • Slow Fashion

TWOTHIRDS offers core items but also releases new items throughout the year. It limits overproduction and waste by utilizing a pre-order model and reusing waste/deadstock. It works to completely eliminate waste and internally tracks and reports on units produced vs units sold - in 2023 it was able to achieve this goal and is working to improve further.

  • Marketing

Commons is still analyzing this brand's marketing emails.

  • Transparency & Reporting

TWOTHIRDS has a prominent sustainability page with high-level information on materials, production waste, supply chain partners, labor practices, and emissions measurement. Some of the data is incomplete, and it's unclear how often this page or information is kept up to date. It has a detailed annual report, with a clear, impact driven strategy and progress reporting that was last updated in 2023.

  • Emissions Tracking

TWOTHIRDS internally measures its overall emissions and reports them on a total company level, without providing a scope by scope breakdown. It identifies its top driver of emissions, by displaying each category as a percentage of the total. Its 2023 estimated total was 51,760 kg CO2e.

  • Emissions Targets

TWOTHIRDS has science-aligned emissions reduction targets for the medium and long-term, but it hasn't reported on progress in the last year. It offsets its full value chain emissions by financing vetted climate projects.

  • Supply Chain & Labor

TWOTHIRDS publishes geographic information about its supply chain partners across the value chain. It reports very high traceability of its main suppliers and materials and is B Corp certified.
